50 Years of Fun In the Son!!
In 2009 we will celebrate our 50th year of serving God in this community. We hope you will be able to join us.
Our church was established in 1959. Since 2009 will be the 50th Anniversary, we thought it would be great to welcome everyone back to their home church for a weekend long celebration! While we are still in the preliminary planning stages, we wanted everyone to begin thinking about ways to celebrate with your fellow brothers and sisters in Christ.
We are planning a weekend long celebration June 26-28th, 2009. So, keep this in mind when planning next year’s summer vacation! (More details to follow.)
• Do you know someone who would be interested in coming to share in the celebration? Please send us their name, address and/or email address so that we may include them in future correspondence.
• Do you have any old pictures that you could send? We hope to gather pictures from past church activities and get-togethers for a visual trip down memory lane and/or a photo collage/album for everyone to enjoy. Please include your name and address on the back of any pictures that are sent as well as the date, details of the event and the people in the pictures – we will return the originals to you once we are through.
• Do you remember any heartfelt or funny stories? Take a moment, write them down and send them to us so that they can be enjoyed by everyone.
• Do you have a favorite recipe that you would like included in the Kenneth City Advent Christian Church Cookbook? Perhaps it was one that you fixed and brought to one of our many potluck dinners, a family favorite or one your mom used to make? These can be handwritten, typed or copied. Recipes will need to be received no later than November 15, 2008 to be included.
